Best Thanksgiving Appetizer is Cheese

When it comes to last-minute Thanksgiving appetizers or snacks, few things could be easier or more welcomed than a tray filled with cubes of luscious, creamy cheeses.

Pair the cheese with fruit, crackers, nuts and a little wine and it’s enough to support any informal holiday gathering.

We offer the following cheeseboard improvement tips from the Dutch gourmet cheese maker Beemster and Daelia’s Biscuits for Cheese.

1. Offer 3-5 different cheeses. When selecting, try to vary the textures, shapes and colors.

Maria Walley, cheese expert and president of Daelia’s Biscuits for Cheese, suggests one blue cheese, one goat cheese and a harder type such as cheddar or Gouda.
